Green Team has continuously working on the issue of food waste at EMIS and in the whole Hakfar Hayarok. In order to learn more about this topic, discover new ideas and gain partners for our actions, we had a pleasure to host Joseph Gitler, the founder of Leket Israel, in one of our meetings.
Agriculture is one of the major contributors to global emissions of greenhouse gases and other types of pollution. Moreover, vast quantities of land are used for growing animals’ food and breeding them. Despite producing tremendous amount of food worldwide, the food crisis is present due to high rate of waste and uneven distribution of nutrition. There are many ways, in which one can decrease his environmental footprint related to food.
The group of students in green team CAS are investigating an issue that hasn’t been discussed or mentioned since EMIS was born, the eyes of these students started to look around and they saw an awful fact that sometimes humans don’t recognize the existence of it. Therefore, they are now investigating this issue.
